Patent model for Frederick L. Hearson and Jacob H. Mosley, “Improvement in Apparatus for Forming Dental Plates,” U.S. Patent 161,033 (March 23, 1875). Hearson (1838-1912) served as an engineer at the Brooklyn Navy Yard during the Civil War. Moseley (1839-1912) was a dentist in Brooklyn.
