Inscriptions on the glass vial read in part “KAL-DERMIC / Skin Suture / Eight-O” and “852 / Minor”. Davis & Geck, a surgical/medical device firm that was established by Charles T. Davis and Fred A. Geck in Brooklyn in 1909, filed for a trademark on the term KAL-DERMIC in 1931.
