Obverse Image: Four Manchu characters in the center surrounded buy Chinese text; in outer circle formed by two beaded rings is more Chinese text , to the right and left are small rosettes composed of 7 dots.
Obverse Text: KUANG / HSU / YUAN / PAO / HU / PEI / SHENG / TSAO / NIEN / SHIH / SAN / TA / CH'ING / K'U / P'ING (Translation: Made in the Hupeh Province in the 30th Year of Emperor Kuang-hsu, Ta-Ching Silver Coin, K'uping 1 Tael)
Reverse Image: Two dragons racing toward a pearl and enclosing the denomination 1 Tael, one Manchu character on the right and left stating the value, in English at the top is the province and at the bottom the value of the coin.
