De Rasiere family knitted petticoat, 1722. Finely knitted white cotton petticoat, Date 1722, initials GB and name "Derasiere" knitted in. 36 1/2" long, 92" circumference. Knitted pattern of diamond lozenges with varying internal geometric motifs, such as smaller diamonds, zigzags, or fretwork. Slash-type openings for accessing pockets worn under the petticoat are knitted in and reinforced with woven tape. This would originally have been gathered or pleated into a band at the waistline for wear. No waistband is extant, however.
