Florence Schulman (nee Bayer) was born in NYC on Sept 14 1919 and died in Reseda, CA April 27 2014. She married Irving Shulman in 1940; they moved to Los Angeles in 1998. In 1952 she opened a childrens wear company and was famous in her time for crafting felt circle skirts with clever appliques, including the 'poodle skirt".
Shulman submitted this sample for copyright to the Library of Congress in 1958.
