A length of printed dress silk: H.R. Mallinson & Co., Inc.'s trade name Roshanara Crepe, the weave showing a distinct cross thread (at the time considered suggestive of crepe poplin). The printed design is from the "Bokhara" series derived from Persian, Central Asian, and Indian motifs in 6 colors on black ground. This variation on silk crepe was named after a popular dancer of the period whose stage name was Roshanara.
