A length of lightweight, 2x2 twill weave dress goods fabric made of rayon and aralac (milk protein or casein fiber) printed with an all over paisley pattern, in yellow and black on red. Aralac was used as a substitute for wool during World War II. This piece is an important survival of the kinds of fibers and fabrics Americans were offered due to shortages and rationing of the most commonly used natural fibers - cotton, wool, and silk - during World War II.
