These Redi-Wet Peacocks brand rubbers were produced by the Dean Rubber Manufacturing Company of North Kansas City, Missouri during the middle of the 20th century.
Three condoms were packaged together in a paper pouch, with each condom individually contained in a plastic capsule. The white paper pouch with green lining features a green image of a Peacock displaying his train. The three condoms are hygienically lubricated with a reservoir end to prevent tears and rips.
Dean’s was one of the larger manufacturers of rubber condoms during the first half of the 20th century, and would exclusively supply pharmacists with well-tested and dependable condoms. This allowed pharmacists to sell higher-quality condoms at markups of 300-2,000 percent, supplying the consumer with a “moral” and effective prophylactic product while promoting condoms from the manufacturers that exclusively supplied the pharmacist.
