Delmer “Del” Ennis (1925-1996) played Major League Baseball for the Phillies (1946–1956), St. Louis Cardinals (1957-1958), Cincinnati Reds (1959) and Chicago White Sox (1959). Prior to joining his hometown Phillies, where he was a three-time All-Star, Ennis served in the United States Navy during the Second World War. The right-handed hitter had lifetime .284 batting average, 2,063 hits, 288 home runs and 1,284 runs batted in.
