America’s Greatest Comics issue No. 4 was published by Fawcett Publications, Inc. August through November 1942 and sold for 15 cents. The cover features image of Captain Marvel, Spy Smasher and Bulletman aboard the wing of a propeller plane.
This issue features the stories of: Captain Marvel foiling the mad scientists Sivana’s attempt to marry off his daughter to an old man under the effect of a reverse-aging potion; Spy Smasher battling the Japanese in the Pacific Islands; Bulletman capturing the gangster Honest John Black and his blackout gas; Minute-Man unraveling the plot of Malva Stone to age and kill women with a face cream; Mr. Scarlet defeating the Dean of the College of Crime Max Mugg; and Commando Yank rescuing General Ruyendahl from Nazi occupied Holland.
Issues of America’s Greatest Comics included several stories, each featuring a different hero, within its 100 page full color book. The superheroes featured in these comics were the most popular characters of Fawcett Publications who also appeared in other comics.
