Red-painted wooden foot warmer or stove with an ogee-molded, overhanging rectangular top and square bottom, three sides carved with pinwheel motifs, and an inset door with single heart mounted on wooden pegs at left; top, sides and door are perforated with drilled holes. A wrought bail handle hooks through wire loops on top and a wire loop door pull and pivot closure are at right. Contains a wire-rimmed, cylindrical brazier or pan for holding the heat source, made of two pieces with folded seams; a roughly circular piece of thick leather lines top. Top is a repurposed 8-by-8 checkerboard (flipped over), while bottom underside is partially carved with pinwheel design and back interior with heart; nailed construction. No marks.
