This large school register with image of two Native Americans on the cover and a red leather spine was used at an unnamed school in Peoria, Illinois between 1900 and 1903. It was manufactured by publishing house Hammond Brothers and Stephens Company of Fremont, Nebraska. The company was founded in 1894 when Ross L (1861-1930) and Frank Hammond (1858-1952), sons of Fremont Tribune owner George Hammond went into business with Dan Vorhees Stephens (1868-1930). The company specialized in educational books and supplies and was the largest school supply publisher in the MidWest.
