Bonds was a 14 time All Star and holds Major League records for career home runs (762) season home runs (73) and National League MVP awards (7). The outfielder, who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1986-1992) and San Francisco Giants (1993-2007) made 14 All-Star teams and recieved 8 Gold Gloves. The son of former Major League player Bobby Bonds, Barry compiled a lifetime .298 batting average, with 2,935 hits, 1,996 runs batted in and 514 stolen bases. Bonds was a major figure in the federal investigation of the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative (BALCO) and the use of banned performance enhancing steroids in baseball.
