Green soup bowl with separate lid. Made in China for the Lillian Vernon Corporation.
This is the first product that the Lillian Vernon Corporation manufactured in China. Vernon "searched the world" for interesting products and went to trade shows, but she eventually cut out wholesalers and manufactured her own products to her specifications. This gave her more control over the final product and the ability to match it to her particular customer base. This bowl was saved by her son Fred Hochberg, because of its importance in telling the evolution of the company.
