Bristol High or West Country measure; gill size. Tall conical or elongated ovoid body with incised line at seam; plain everted rim with pouring spout; flared foot. Tapered, S-scroll handle with spurred thumbrest; upper terminal attached at top of rim and short lower terminal near center of body. Front of body stamped "GILL" and "NOGGIN" in serif letters. Rim exterior stamped "J.J.K." in incuse serif letters below spout and with at least six additional marks, including a crowned "V[R] / 8(2?)6" verification mark, a crowned "G.K ", and two, deeply impressed circular marks. Rim interior is stamped three times with partial verification mark: "(crown) / VR / (?)96."
