Quarter Gill Measure

Description:

Handleless, tapered cylindrical measure with a galleried rim and flared base; quarter gill size. Two incised lines at top of body and one above base. Body is stamped "1/4 GILL" in incuse serif letters. Rim exterior is scratched with a star to the left of a crowned "[G?]R" verification mark; another circular verification mark is illegible. Bottom exterior stamped with an incuse serif "X".
