Silver-gilt or vermeil circular plate with a plain, flat well, raised and shaped edge of four bracketlike segments separated by four concave ones and a conforming, applied cast rim of ruffled scrolls and scallop shells alternating with conch shells. No foot ring. Well underside has an engraved zigzag test line and is struck with four hallmarks, including assayer's mark "И•Ф" in raised Cyrillic in a rectangle, St. Petersburg city mark for 1770, maker's mark "ZD" in raised roman letters in a rectangle; and standard mark "78" in individual squares.
