Oversized partial-gilt raised and repoussé chased cylindrical tankard with a flat-domed lid topped by a ball knop, a wide scored band at rim, and a domed circular foot. Pairs of leafy volutes and fruits fill domed portions of lid and foot; body adorned with scenes of two couples in a forest, both men in Roman-style military dress, separated by a servant tending two dogs. Cast convex split scroll thumbpiece attaches to three-knuckle hinge; domed ends on hinge pin. Cast triple C scroll handle. Ball knop, handle and foot are screwed on with quatrefoil washers. Gilt washed interior. Exterior edge of lid, rim band, and edge of foot are struck with two marks, a pyr or pinecone and the raised serif letters "GB" in an oval. Underside of flat bottom engraved "95 1/2 loh(?)".
