Large, two-handled, raised cylindrical bowl with tall sides and rounded bottom on pedestal base; cast fasces pattern loop handles and applied bands on rim and circular foot. Gilt-washed interior. Bottom underside engraved with a zigzag test line and struck with six marks around large centerpoint, including maker's mark "ZD" in raised roman letters in a rectangle; standard mark "62" in individual squares; St. Petersburg city mark for 1771; assayer's mark "И•Ф" in raised Cyrillic in a rectangle; and two sets of inventory numbers "2", "c" and "7" incuse, and "No" and "7" in raised roman script in squares. Rim interior struck incuse "8" and "89". One of two wine coolers, DL*59.2344-DL*59.2345; same date and assayer's mark, but different maker, standard and inventory marks.
Maker is Zacharias Deichman (or Deichmann; Захарий Дейхман); active, 1731-1776, and goldsmith to the Imperial Court during the reign of Catherine the Great. Assayer is Ivan Frolov (Иван Фролов).
