Large, shaped touchmark of Stephen Barnes, consisting of his name in reserves above and below a circle containing stars over a spreadwing eagle, head facing right and overlapping wing, struck twice on underside of well; both partial.
Maker is Stephen Barnes; little is known about him other than that he is believed to have worked in Middletown, CT, circa 1798-1810.
