Small, square, japanned container with a pyramidal or angled, hinged lid gilt stenciled "CLOVES" on top. Lid is made of one piece, cut and folded, with small clasp on front, molded bracket strap handle on top, and two hinges at back. Box consists of one piece for the sides with a folded rim and raised bead below, and an attached flat bottom with folded edge. Stenciled decoration faded and barely visible.
