Single-reeded circular plate with curved rim and flat well scored once near booge; no foot ring. Underside of well struck twice with partial eagle touchmark of William Will above secondary mark "W\M. WILL / [PHI]LADE[LPHIA]" in raised roman letters in stacked reserves; scratched "CL" at center.
Maker is William Will (1742-1798) of Philadelphia, PA; w. 1764-1798. His father John Will (1696-1774), who emigrated from Neuwied, Germany, and worked in New York, 1752-1774, as well as his brothers Henry (worked in New York City and Albany, 1763-1793) and Philip (New York City and Philadelphia, 1763-1787), were also pewterers.
