Stepped and molded cover with empty hole for a handle. Both pieces are hollow cast: cover has a single gate mark on outside; kettle has horizontal and vertical seams on body and spout with single gate mark on bottom exterior. Cast-in mark below back ear "D:SHAW." in raised serif letters inside a zig-zag bordered oval.
