Bail-handled, circular tray on a four-legged stand with a gold-washed, winged putto holding grapes perched on a ball at center between them. Tray has raised sides and an everted rim with projecting, curvilinear pendant collar featuring bright cut, Eastlake-style motifs; interior is flat-chased or -stamped with diagonal ribbons against flowers and two pairs of winged putti kissing. Crossed, scroll-ended bars with relief-decorated, curvilinear brackets form handle and four legs; triple semicircular fan finial tops handle, while legs end in flat discs for feet. Underside of one foot os struck with an incuse circular mark containing a pointed shield bordered by "MERIDEN / B. COMPANY" in sans serif letters above "1751"; another foot has a pointed oval.
