Color photograph of Rear Admiral Durek's retirement ceremony, June 1975. Alene B. Duerk was the Director of the Navy Nurse Corps 1970-1975 and first woman to be appointed Rear Admiral in the Navy Nurse Corps in June 1972. She retired from active Naval service in June 1975.
