Eagle medallion coverlet fragment. 19th century. Red, white and blue eagle pattern. Double-woven, in twill and plain weave, with cotton and wool yarns. The design resembles the one known as "Dollar Coverlet" in the book Heirlooms from Old looms, page 162. The border is 1 1/4 inch wide. The fringe was as a much as 3 inches long. It is a self fringe of red white and blue yarns. the yarn count is 19 x 19.
