Chinese export market embroidered silk shawl; Embroidery done in four shades of green silk twist. Twelve inch hand knotted fringe around all four sides. Said by donor, Mrs. Davis, to have been brought from China by a family friend, Capt. Thomas Litby, of Portsmouth, NH, to the donor's great grandmother, Marjory Greenleaf Walker (nee Ward) wife of William Walker of Potsmouth. Marjory was born March 17 1779 and died in 1840. 64" square.
