Cheney Brothers printed novelty modernist design "Zantine Silk", 1917. Original cataloging: Mfr.# 54202. "A soft, drapey plain weave fabric. Printed with a conventionalized Egyptian design in gold, green, rose, light and dark blue." (W. 40 in., L. 36 in.) The design is a modernist-inspired one, in bright, contrasting colors, of alternating wavy bands of dark blue pointed ovals with green linework, and geometric motifs in pink, light blue-gray, oranges and greens. Manufacturer's trade name, "Zantine Silk".
