Skein of gray wool yarn (#4022) for civilian knitting of US Navy wear during World War I. Samples of wool and other fiber yarns and knitted articles for US army and navy use, by civilians, were given by American yarn manufacturer S.B. and B.W. Fleisher, Inc., of Philadelphia, PA in December 1918. Red Cross patterns for these articles survive.
