Description:

Skein of khaki-colored wool yarn used by civilians in making knitted garments for US Army wear during World War I. Samples of knitted articles for US army and navy use were given by American yarn manufacturer S.B. and B.W. Fleisher, Inc., of Philadelphia, PA in December 1918. Red Cross patterns for these articles survive.
