Description:

Wristlet sample, tubular, with slit for thumb; knitted of gray wool yarn (#4022); approved pattern and color for home-knitting by civilians for wear by US Navy personnel during World War I. Samples of knitted articles for US army and navy use were given by American yarn manufacturer S.B. and B.W. Fleisher, Inc., of Philadelphia, PA in December 1918.
