Description:

Knitted sleevelss sweater sample, made of gray wool yarn (#4022); pattern and color approved for hand-knitting by civilians for US Navy wear during World War I. Samples of yarns and knitted articles for US army and navy use were given by American yarn manufacturer S.B. and B.W. Fleisher, Inc., of Philadelphia, PA in December 1918.
