The psychologist Grace Helen Kent (1875-1973) believed strongly that psychological tests offered a useful tool for understanding children and their problems – more so than for obtaining numerical ratings. She herself altered tests for clinical use and published the results. This volume summarizes much work done in the United States in the decades before 1950. Chapter topics include "Why Children Are Referred to the Clinic," "The Clinic Examination," "Sources of Error in Use of Tests," "Use of Understanding Tests," and "Criteria for Construction of Clinical Tests." Specific tests are listed and considered.
