This wide mouth jar has a flared collar and an applied circular foot. The clear glass is decorated with a baked enamel cartouche. A white shield on a blue background is framed by a yellow C-scroll design and capped by a crown. Urdang attributes this jar to the Court Pharmacy of Pillnitz, which today is a city quarter in eastern Dresden, Germany. It is marked PECTORAL B W with red initial letters and the alchemical symbol for powder. A pectoral was a poultice or ointment used in the treatment of upper-respiratory ailments.
