- A poster advertising Chimurenga Day and Sinoia Battle. Chimurenga is a Zimbabwean word meaning "revolutionary struggle." In the 1960s-1970s a war was fought between African nationalist guerillas and the predomininately white Rhodesian government. The war is also known as the Rhodesian Bush War. Sinoia Battle was a small military engagement near the city of Sinoia between the Zimbabwe African Liberation Army and Rhodesian police on April 28, 1966.
