Description:

Violin wood from the Albert Moglie Shop in Washington DC, from about 1926. This is a collection of violin wood illustrating the procedural steps in the construction of a complete violin “in the white,” prior to the application of varnish. These materials appeared in a violin making exhibit at the Smithsonian in 1973. Albert F. Moglie, born in Rome in 1890, was a violin maker in Washington, D.C.
