Musical score for “Leonore” presented with the “COMPLIMENTS OF / PASTEURINE TOOTH PASTE / THE DENTIFRICE OF THE ELITE / PRESCRIBED BY DENTISTS AROUND THE WORLD.” The 19th Century Therapeutic Co., of New York City, introduced Pasteurine in 1883, claiming that it destroyed bacteria. There was a Pasteurine Sanitary Co., in Lebanon, Mo., in 1893. John T. Milliken & Co. of St Louis, Mo., obtained a trademark on the term “Pasteurine” in 1896. The “Lenore” score was listed in the notice of premiums offered by Milliken & Co., in The National Drug Clerk 5 (1917): 130.
