- An inscription on the dial of this apparatus reads in part “MC INTOSH NO. 5000 / PORTABLE WALL PLATE / MANUFACTURED BY / MCINTOSH ELECTRICAL CORPORATION / CHICAGO, ILL. U.S.A. / NO. xxxx.” The McIntosh Electrical Corporation of Chicago, the successor to the McIntosh Battery & Optical Co., was in business in the 1920s.
