The “DITTMAR / US / STAINLESS” inscription on this vaginal speculum is that of F. Dittmar & Co., a surgical instrument firm established by Frederick Dittmar (1869-1969) in Philadelphia. By the late 1960s, the firm was trading as Dittmar & Penn.
