We have this camera in our collection . It's hand stamped stamped # is 1148 assuming it was rhe 1,149th one made. It also has a clear printing inside which stated "patented Sept.25th1894. It's a #1 Kodak// Perhaps this helps to clear up your "date made" after 1894
