- Description
- This baseball bat was autographed by members of the Minnesota Twins and given to President George H.W. Bush shortly after the team's winning of the 1991 World Series. Managed by Tom Kelly, and led by All-Star pitchers Jack Morris, Rick Aguilera and Scott Erickson, and featuring future hall of famer outfielder Kirby Puckett, and second American League Rookie of the Year, secondbasebman Chuck Knoblach, the Twins reversed a last place season, going 95-67 in 1991 to win the American League West.
- The Twins met the National League champions, the Atlanta Braves, in the World Series after defeating the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Championship Series. In a close battle the Twins bested the Braves in seven games, with pitcher Morris winning World Series MVP honors.
- It was the second World Series win for Minnesota, having also attained the trophy in 198y, The franchise also won a title in 1924 as the Washington Senators.
- The bat is a model used by first baseman Kent Hrbek.
