Astronomical Chart
- Description
- “CORPORUM COELSTIUM MAGNITUDINES” shows the relative sizes of the several celestial bodies. It is image #10 from the Harmonia Macrocosmica created by Andreas Cellarius (1596-1665), a cartographer and cosmographer in the Netherlands. The “Apud GERARDIUM VALK et PETRUM SCHENCK Amstelodam” inscription indicates that it is from the republished edition of 1708, and not the original edition of 1660.
