Description
Mercury in glass thermometer. The scale reads from -10 to +250 degrees C. An inscription reads “MADE IN USA / 3513.” A paper label on the cardboard tube reads, in part, “7372 / THERMOMETER ENG. STEM /.” Archie James Weith (1886-1980) used this thermometer while a graduate student in the chemistry department of the University of Kansas, in 1909-1913.
