Description:

Mechanical lantern slide in a rectangular wooden frame, with paper label that reads “No. 1. The Solar System, shewing the Revolution of all the Planets with their Satellites round the Sun.” The planets here extend out to Neptune. In 1848, this retailed for $5.75.
