This replica of a refracting telescope made and used by Galileo in the early seventeenth century is copied from an original in the Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza (now the Museo Galileo) in Florence, Italy. The brown paper tube is 50 inches long, and 2.5 inches maximum diameter.
