Model 1860 Cavalry Saber Presented to Capt. David McMurtrie Gregg

Description (Brief):

This Presentation Grade Model 1860 Cavalry Saber was presented to Captain David McMurtrie Gregg by Company E of the 6th Regiment of U.S. Cavalry on January 25, 1862 when he left the regiment to take charge of the 8th Pennsylvania Cavalry. Gregg rose from captain to brigadier general in command of a cavalry division during the Civil War.
