Description
This instrument consists of an isoceles right triangle in brass, with a hole of the same shape. A thumbscrew attached to the hypotenuse of the of the triangle holds a shaped metal plate which can rotate. Attached to this plate is a lever somewhat resembling a telegraph key. There is no rule nor room in the case for a rule. On April 2, 1872 Bergner took out a patent for a parallel ruler. However, it had a rule and a prawl not in this instrument. The instrument is in a velvet-lined, leather-covered case.
