My mom always had Zemo, great for itching and healing scrapes etc. I still have a tad left- thank God! Why isn't it or something similar available?
I still have a tube. It expired on May 1988, but I still use it! LOL. I'm from Spain, but my grandpa was American, so we always had a couple of tubes of zemo and also liquid zemo!! My grandpa took a sample to a lab to see if they could recreate it and they told him that it has an illegal component (at least in Europe), but they didn't tell him what component it was. Probably, that component is what makes it so effective!! My tube is almost full, so I have zemo for a couple more decades...
This was the absoluteLy the best anti itch medication ever made. Someone needs to copy and make this.
I stepped in a ant pile yesterday and my dad put this stuff on 10 minutes ago. The itching is minimized a lot!
Zemo ointment was the best! I have suffered with atopical dermatitis eczema since I was 2 year old, very miserable disease! Someone, who is smart & would like to make money, needs to make this wonderful ointment again. I know of many that suffer with their incurable disease, that need the relief this ointment gives, there is NOTHING like it!
I totally agree with you. This ointment has saved me from eczema misery most of my life. Believe it or not, my dad and I had four tubes between us when they quit making it and I've been eking it like gold since then. It's great and I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it was manufactured again!
My Grandfather turned me on to Zemo in 1964. He had used this product for years! I used this product for scrapes and cuts. It worked quickly and efficiently. I wish this product was still made today! Nothing I buy today takes itching away immediately and I do not like to take antihistamines in pill form (i.e.; benadryl).
I also suffered from eczema from birth to age 14. Back in the 50's, Zemo was the only relief available. I truly believe that if it was manufactured again, many folks would be very grateful.
Lynn Vileno---Zemo Ointment with it's wonderful wintergreen aroma, was a pink ointment in a tube that was always in the bathroom drawer at home for mosquito bites. It was the best! It was around our house from the early 60's to on. I my mom purchased a couple of tubes in the late 80's or early 90's for the grandkids. I wish they still made it. A tube, even among 5 kids, lasted forever!
