Software, Reel of Magnetic Tape for UNIVAC I

Description:

Life and Casualty Insurance Company of Tennessee (Now a part of American General Life and Accident) used two examples of the UNIVAC I mainframe computer between 1957 and 1970 (serial numbers 24 and 37). In 1970, the company closed its UNIVAC I operation and gave several UNIVAC I components to the Smithsonian. The UNIVAC I used reels of metal magnetic tape for computer input and output. This is one of six such reels received.
