Description:

An inscription on this spatula reads “WITH COMPLIMENTS OF / CHICHESTER CHEMICAL CO. / PHILADELPHIA / CHI-CHES-TER / FOR A GOOD MIXER.” The firm was in business by 1884. Its Diamond Brand Pills were widely advertised and known as an abortifacient.
